March issue of ‘Dance Today’

Dance Today March

This month’s issue of Dance Today magazine is now on sale.

I’ve written a feature on the evolution of dancewear, from courtly fashion to the influence of MTV, plus the top 10 fashion hits and disahsters, and I’ve reviewed the new (and sadly flawed) Strictly Come Dancing: Show Stoppers DVD, complete with the beloved ‘Strictly Speaking’ sequinometer rating!

We’re also excited to announce the launch of our brand-new Teacher of the Year competition. If you think your dance teacher deserves special recognition for their work and dedication, do get in touch – you can either contact me directly or the magazine, via post, email, Facebook or Twitter. The winner gets our coveted trophy and a year’s free subscription, and I’ll be bringing you the full results in August.

In my regular column on the world of same-sex dance, ‘Stepping Out’, there’s an exclusive interview with the two reigning international champion couples of ballroom: Hungary’s Csaba Csetneki and Balázs Gáti and Germany’s Caroline Privou and Petra Zimmermann. They share the origins of their partnerships, experience of both same-sex and mainstream dance worlds and hopes for the future.
